Bio
I have a very multidisciplinary background. I obtained an MSc in Theoretical Psychology (Ugent, Belgium) and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence (KUL, Belgium). I got my Ph.D. in 2012 (UA, Belgium) in Biology. During my PhD, I used computer simulations to model the echolocation system of bats at the Active Perception Lab, an engineering lab interested in mimicking bat sonar in robots.
As a postdoc, I worked at the University of Bristol as a Marie Curie Fellow under the supervision of Marc Holderied. Before coming to the University of Cincinnati, I worked at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, the largest UK robotics research facility.
I joined UC in August 2016 as an assistant professor with a joint appointment in the Psychology, Biological Sciences, Electrical Engineering & Computing Systems, and Mechanical & Materials Engineering Departments.
